The meeting was called to order at 7:05.

The Committee received a memo from John Woodsmall, DPW Director with answers to questions asked at the meeting of April18, 2012.

The Superintendent of the WRSD was pleased with the Finance Committee vote of April 25 on Municipal Budget reductions so he can present these to the WRSDC at the April 30 meeting.

The Committee began voting on the F/Y 13 Budget.

A motion by Marilynn 2nd by Peter to approve the Moderator Budget of $165.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Paul 2nd by Joe to approve the Selectman Budget of $24,250.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Paul 2nd by Marilynn to approve the Town Manager Budget of $484,224.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Peter 2nd by Marilynn to approve the Information Technology Budget of $269,513.00 as amended was voted unanimously.

A motion Joe 2nd by Peter to approve the Accounting Budget of $143,530.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Marilynn 2nd by Joe to approve the Treasurer/Collector Budget of $256,593.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Peter 2nd by Marilynn to approve the Assessors Budget of $245,212.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Jim 2nd by Paul to approve the Legal Budget of $194,000.00 as amended was voted unanimously.

A motion by Marilynn 2nd by Peter to approve the Town Clerk Budget of $207,624.00 was voted unanimously.     

A motion by Paul 2nd by Jim to approve the Insurance Budget of $1,566,700.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Peter 2nd by Joe to approve the Retirement Budget of $931,617.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Paul 2nd by Peter to approve the Debt Budget of $4,013,196.00 as amended was voted unanimously.

A motion by Peter 2nd by Marilynn to approve the Growth Management Budget of $223,506.00 as amended was voted unanimously.

A motion by Paul 2nd by Joe to approve the Police Department Budget of $2,164,132.00 as amended was voted unanimously.

A motion by Joe 2nd by Peter to approve the Animal Control Budget of $51,095.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Joe 2nd by Marilynn to approve the Sealer of Weights and Measures Budget of $3,525.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Marilynn 2nd by Paul to approve the Fire Department Budget of $1,180,087.00 as amended was voted unanimously. (abstained Peter)

A motion by Paul 2nd by Karl to approve the EMS Budget of $765,848.00 was voted unanimously. (abstained Peter)

A motion by Paul 2nd by Joe to approve the Emergency Management Budget of $21,746.00 was voted unanimously. (abstained Peter)


A motion by Jim 2nd by Joe to decrease the Public Safety Building Budget by $6,000.00 was voted unanimously. (abstained Peter)

A motion by Paul 2nd by Marilynn to approve the Public Safety Building Budget of $201,008.00 as amended was voted unanimously. (abstained Peter)

A motion by Peter 2nd by Joe to approve the Veterans Budget of $89,700.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Paul 2nd by Marilynn to approve the Senior Citizen Budget of $240,371.00 was voted unanimously.

A motion by Paul 2nd by Jim to approve the Montachussett Regional Vocational Technical School Budget of $543,687.00 based on the Assessment Letter was voted unanimously.

A motion by Marilynn 2nd by Peter to approve the Gale Free Library Budget of $757,023.00 was voted unanimously. (abstained Paul)

A motion by Marilynn 2nd by Jim to approve the Historical Commission Budget of $6,700.00 was voted unanimously.

Remaining Budgets to be voted on: WRSD, Finance Committee Reserve Fund, DPW, Revolving Funds, Enterprise Funds and Capital Budgets.

A motion by Paul 2nd by Peter to approve the minutes of April 25, 2012 as corrected was voted unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 8:55.
